   Antennas for amateurradio

Browsing the web, you will find out there is a lot of discussions
about which antennas is the best. In fact there are at least as many
meanings as it is antennas
(and amateurs).
Very often theory is not the best way to judge a result. Many local
things can ruin the results. The best way is to make a plan.
Where should I put up the antenne? At which height? Any obstacle
around? All these questions should be asked before you start.
If you have the possibility to test with smaller and less expensive
antenna gear first, do it.
Sometimes the simplest one is the best.
I have been experimenting with " loop " antennas for shortwave
in my boat.

Look at the design  ->
This is almost a forgotten technology. In a boat you have little space
to put up a shortwave antenna. I have never used it for transmitting.
For receiving, this is (at least for me) the best antenna I have tried.
At the left you will find links to sites with information for this antenna.
